Standard X-rays do not require an appointment; you can walk into our Dominion Road clinic during business hours (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Mon-Fri) as long as you have a valid referral. All other procedures, such as Ultrasound and CT scans, require a prior booking.

Yes. Modern digital X-ray and CT systems use the lowest possible dose of radiation to achieve high-quality images. Ultrasound uses sound waves and has no known harmful effects.

It is vital that you inform our staff if you are, or suspect you might be, pregnant. While many scans can be performed safely, we may need to take extra precautions or delay certain X-ray/CT procedures.

X-Ray: No special preparation is usually required.
Ultrasound (Abdominal): You may be asked to fast (no food or drink) for 6 hours prior.
Ultrasound (Pelvic/Pregnancy): You may need a full bladder.
CT Scan: Some scans require fasting for 2–4 hours or specific hydration.

Costs vary depending on the complexity and type of scan. Please refer to Prices for an estimation. Our team will provide a cost estimate when you book. For ACC-related claims, a surcharge usually applies.

A specialist Radiologist will interpret your images and send a formal report to your referring doctor. You can also view your images via the AXS Patient Portal.

Most reports are delivered to your doctor within 24–48 hours. Highly urgent results can be fast-tracked if requested by your referrer.

Images are often available quickly, but the formal report is typically released to the portal 7–10 working days after your appointment to ensure your doctor has time to review and discuss the findings with you first.
